@tectonics_yang @neotectonic Yep, that seems like the surface wave magnitude (Ms). This paper (https://t.co/830clgzeJO) revised it to a moment magnitude of 7.7.

@neotectonic Here's perhaps a clearer study looking at the old seismic records. They have a refined epicentre of 39.87° N and 76.42° E, depth of 18 km and thrust faulting on an east-west trending fault https://t.co/830clgzeJO
