Strong abstract - "Authors only get their papers accepted if they intellectually prostitute themselves by slavishly following the demands made by anonymous referees" - Any thoughts on this peeps? https://t.co/TWTq3sj0En #AcademicTwitter #phdchat https://

I can't agree with this author's suggestions. If he is serious, they would cede too much power to editors. Furthermore, criticism can be helpful. I can appreciate he was having a bad day when he wrote this paper, which has received over 100 citations.https
If publishing is really prostitution, wouldn't that make editors pimps? And academics prostitutes? Link: https://t.co/PqrjCHyodN
ACADEMIA IS FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN.

@rmforsyth @CarlessDavid Unfortunately we do that in research as well, when we sell ourselves to what the referee wants out of us. Publishing as Prostitution: https://t.co/KJx4k6WiQV, so how can we teach our students to do better than this...#AssessmentHEc
