High #breastdensity is associated with increased absolute risk of breast cancer [1], with interval cancer compared to screen-detected cancer [2,3,4,5], and with large cancer compared to small cancer [6]. @WaterfordMafia @lavallymaeve https://t.co/cAjaL6yDO

https://t.co/9R48FKnPjB gives a possible explanation of why increased mortality is less obvious. Both the Tabar and old BIRADS density categories are based on overall breast density. BIRADS 2014 is based on the densest part of the breast and the probabilit
As a breast imager I find this confusing. IMO “localized density”=dense breasts. There may be areas of fatty tissue but if there is “localized density” I classify it as hetero dense or extremely dense. Point is there are areas that aren’t well seen on mammo
RT @dammadbrstcancr: @BreastDense Are you familiar with "localized" density? I wasn't! Fascinating. #densebreasts #breastcancer https://t.…
Haven't seen this particular report before, the authors listed r based in Stockholm where they have done many studies on Density risk @JohnShepherdPhD Density conference Hawaii - look frwd more on this. Best Kept Secret #breastcancer RISK @dammadbrstcanc
