@VonKoczalski @BohunkSupremacy https://t.co/kQS9IIN4Bo It does leech, however it is a small amount overall - unless you wash it in the dishwasher which causes more to be released. Depends how often you use it.
@S3XYengineering @Rainmaker1973 see Stahl T et al. (2017): "human inner aluminum exposure through the proper use of aluminum moka pots is negligible" ;) https://t.co/MxZys6nVAO https://t.co/oS1srDYhZE

@fabgenovese @dpl0a @ququ7 @oliverbeige Huh. Yay, apparently everybody is right: https://t.co/Rg6GgerTHR TL;DR: wash it (of-fucking-course, I would add) but be gentle to avoid undoing the surface passivation and end up tasting metal like when it's new (or

Acidic food + aluminium is usually bad, but unwashed moka pots are safe. Now I can resume my coffee drinking. https://t.co/E7hQvZmjp7
@light_fight @SarahKSilverman Not only is aluminium fine for cooking (a tiny amount is released), but it dissipates heat much better than stainless steel: it has a much higher thermal conductivity. Thus aluminium became the metal of choice for the moka pot
@hugowiz @IAmMicMars @mikaelisik @Spfannenschmidt @cdipaola62 @MDiPaolaMD @Extrachelle @tabacco_y_rhum @_jonyoung_ That pot is aluminum. I try and find a stainless steel pot. https://t.co/G6MVplVXfM
@Rainmaker1973 Nice video, but I'm not keen on making coffee this way. Mokas are traditionally made of aluminium, prone to corrosion in acidic conditions - coffee is acidic - & Al is linked with dementia. Even tho risks are small https://t.co/v6QHAyS5m
