This is a great read. There is a multitude of problems when altitude is involved but one major is rolling resistance. Yes the higher you go the more of it you over come via air particles being dispersed, however, track surface has to be a big factor.

高地で気圧が下がることによる出力低下は、1000mで5.8%、2000mで10.3% https://t.co/dToOXAogu7 ヤビツ程度でもパワメの誤差以上に低下するし、ペーシング戦略にも効く。乗鞍で低地のつもりでペーシングしたら確実にパンクする。
